Making each pottery bowl design begins with smooth, even slabs of high-quality stoneware clay. I shape the base by hand and gently pull the edges to create my signature wavy bowl design, letting the clay’s natural movement guide me. Each curve is individually formed, giving the bowl its sense of rhythm and flow. The same thoughtful process is used when I create a ceramic hand bowl or a ceramic flower bowl, where sculptural edges highlight the organic character of the clay.
Once the form is complete, the piece is left to dry to a leather-hard state before I refine the shape and add textures that make it stand out. After the first firing, I apply glazes that bring out depth and color, enhancing the movement of the curves and the subtle textures of the surface. The final firing transforms each piece into a durable, functional work of art.
