Hello, My Name is Allison Neiss
I’m Allison Neiss, a ceramic artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. My passion is creating handmade pottery that blends artistry with everyday function. Using high-quality stoneware clay, each piece is carefully handbuilt, shaped, and glazed to highlight natural textures and flowing forms. From sculptural vases to wavy ceramic bowls and custom platters, my work is designed to bring beauty and meaning into daily life.

My Pottery Journey
From an early age, I was drawn to the beauty of pottery. Whenever I visited my grandparents, I would admire their collection of handmade pieces and listen to their stories of where they had discovered them on their travels. Those moments sparked my own love for collecting pottery, both across the U.S. and abroad, and eventually inspired me to start creating pieces myself.
That childhood fascination has grown into a lifelong passion for handbuilding pottery. I work from my home studio in Charlotte, NC, where I create bowls, vases, platters, and sculptures that are both functional and artistic. My work often reflects the movement and energy of the ocean, with flowing edges, ruffled rims, and layered glazes that mimic waves, currents, and natural textures. Each piece is formed slowly and intentionally, making every creation one-of-a-kind.

For me, pottery is more than form and function—it’s about connection. Just as my grandparents’ collection carried stories of their travels, I hope my work brings a sense of beauty and meaning to the homes it enters. Whether it’s a centerpiece for a table, a gift for someone special, or an everyday bowl used in the kitchen, my goal is for each piece to bring warmth, inspiration, and a touch of oceanic movement into daily life.
Featured Partnerships
My work is featured in North Carolina spaces such as Collected Charlotte in SouthPark and the Grandover Resort & Spa Art Gallery in Greensboro. These partnerships allow me to share my pottery with collectors and designers who value unique, handmade pieces.
