I loved creating this handmade blue ocean themed ceramic bowl, and it’s one of those pieces that reminded me why I enjoy working with clay. I handbuilt it slowly from strong stoneware, shaping the rim into soft, uneven waves that feel alive, almost like the shoreline when the tide drifts in. Once the form was finished, I textured the surface just enough to catch the glaze and give it depth without overwhelming the shape.
 
The glaze is my favorite part. It moves from deep ocean blues into lighter, sunlit tones, shifting gently across the surface in a way that feels calm and coastal. Measuring about 11 inches wide and 5 inches tall, it’s a wonderful size for a dining table centerpiece, holding fruit in the kitchen, or adding a touch of color to a coffee table or shelf.
 
Each bowl is bisque fired, glazed by hand, and high-fired for lasting strength, so it’s both functional and decorative. Because every piece is handmade, yours will have its own subtle variations in color and texture. Those small differences are what make every bowl truly one of a kind.
