This round flower vase is one of those pieces that takes on a life of its own as I’m shaping it. I begin with a smooth slab of stoneware clay and slowly form it into a rounded vessel, letting the curves soften naturally beneath my hands. Once the base is finished, I create each sculptural flower separately and attach the petals one by one so the vase carries a gentle, organic movement. The process is slow and intentional, and I love how it gives the piece a quiet personality.
Measuring about six inches tall and five inches across, this vase is just the right size for small bouquets, a few gathered stems, or even as a standalone accent on a shelf or bedside table. The blue and white glaze flows softly around the form, settling into the raised floral details and highlighting their dimensional texture. In natural light the colors shift slightly, giving the vase a serene, almost airy quality.
Although many people enjoy this style for fresh flowers, it works just as beautifully as a decorative sculptural piece. Its shape and palette blend easily with coastal, modern, or minimalist interiors, making it a lovely addition to any home or a meaningful gift for someone who appreciates handmade pottery.
This particular vase has sold, but I’m always happy to create a custom version with similar colors and floral accents. Each one will have its own character while keeping the same spirit as the original.
