I created this ruffle pottery bowl from high-quality stoneware clay using handbuilding techniques, guiding the form without molds so the edge could develop its own natural rhythm. After bisque firing, I glazed it by hand with layered blues that flow and pool like coastal water, then high-fired it for strength and durability.
The glaze surface shifts from pale, airy blue at the center into deeper ocean tones along the rim, with natural variations that give the bowl a quiet sense of motion. Measuring about 14 inches wide and 5 inches tall, it has a generous scale that works beautifully as a table centerpiece, a serving bowl for shared meals, or a sculptural accent on a shelf or console.
