This blue sculptural ceramic driftwood art brings the organic beauty of the coast into your home. Inspired by the weathered driftwood found along Amelia Island, Florida, I created this piece to capture the flowing lines and natural movement of forms shaped by the sea.
Handbuilt from high-quality stoneware clay using traditional coil-building techniques, this sculpture has an elongated, asymmetrical form with undulating edges and graceful curves. Measuring 19.5" long, 11" wide, and 5.5" high, it makes a striking centerpiece for a dining table, kitchen island, or console. The blue glaze adds depth and a watery quality, complementing the sculptural contours without taking away from the form itself.
I bisque fire each piece, apply the glaze by hand, and high-fire it for strength and durability. Made in my Charlotte, North Carolina studio, every sculpture has its own distinctive shape and character.
This handmade blue stoneware sculpture works beautifully in coastal and contemporary interiors, whether displayed alone or paired with other pieces from my sculptural ceramic collection. It's a thoughtful choice for collectors and home décor enthusiasts looking for original ceramic art. I hope it becomes a piece you'll enjoy living with for years to come.
