This Blue and White ceramic bowl was formed slowly by hand in my Charlotte, NC studio, allowing the soft edges to rise and fold naturally like waves meeting the shore. I begin with high-quality stoneware clay, shaping every curve by hand before bisque firing, glazing by hand, and high-firing for strength and durability. In the middle of the piece, the bowl opens to about 7.5 inches wide and stands roughly 3.5 inches tall, giving it a presence that feels both light and grounded.
The glaze flows in layered ocean blues that melt into a warm ivory rim, creating depth, movement, and a surface that feels silky in the center and softly textured along the ruffled edges.
